Walk Turn Generator

Creating a single animation is easy enough, but making a FULL SET of locomotion animations, and they need to LINE UP with each other!? This used to take me forever, it was an inexact science of moving feet controllers in arcs by eyeballing how close it is to some curve I draw on the ground plane. I knew there had to be a better way, and with some coding, I found it! Take a walk cycle, perfectly set up for the character, unique stride, custom gaits, looking good but only straight. It has the timing and the comfortable step length, it has the weight shifting, it has locomotion that match the animation for the stickiest of feet. This tool will take the time range of that walk and apply distributed offsets to reach a desired angle by the end of the animation, for each selected controller, after copying the walk to a new time of course. Better yet, it will make the turn-in-place, walking turn, idle, strafe. If that wasn't good enough, it will also automatically output a set of turn animations for each angle you want. I like 3,7,15,30,45,90. It may take a minute, but it saves me days and comes out ~perfect!

I made this in MEL, tweaked and perfected on several characters with varying amounts of legs. :D

A walk can turn into a walk-turn in just a click of a button... and flattening some tangents
